And So It Is…

And there I was distraught, frustrated ready to give up on my dream… And the phone call came from an unexpected friend I met a year ago at a conference…

Her timing impeccable, as the misery of doubt in myself lingered for months…
I needed to hear her words, I needed to understand the timing of it all… Gods perfect timing. Then the post came from another dear friend reminding me “only the love in your heart will last forever”

So the quandary I have been facing for months still needs work. A light now brighter then before, shines a little clearer, as I search my inner soul to move forward to find my authentic self… And know my inner truth…

Karma…

I woke up wondering about Karma and its meaning this morning.
According to simple.m.wikipedia.org…

“Karma is the universal principle of cause and effect. Our actions, both good and bad, come back to us in the future, helping us to learn from life’s lessons and become better people. In religions that include reincarnation, karma extends through one’s present life and all past and future lives as well.

Karma is basically energy. One person throws out energy through thoughts, words and actions, and it comes back, in time, through other people. Karma is the best teacher, forcing people to face the consequences of their actions and thus improve and refine their behavior, or suffer if they do not. Even harsh karma, when faced in wisdom, can be the greatest spark for spiritual growth. The conquest of karma lies in intelligent action and unemotional response.”

Cause and effect…
Our Actions come back to us…
Spiritual growth…
Unemotional response…

Whether or not you believe in “Karma” there seems to be a universal law of good and bad… Ever notice how when good is passed forward your whole mood changes? And when bad happens it’s just bad! Karma is one of those words that when used you know everything will be ok… God will take care of the situation through the universe, life and people on earth…

So next time something happens which seems so very wrong and you pray about it, rest assured there is the force of “Karma” to be reckoned with!

What goes around comes around…
Treat others the way you want to be treated!

Connect With A Hug…

A hug is one of the most precious signs of connecting to another person there could be. There are people who love to hug then there are “the others”. I will admit I need connection and even touch but hugging is not always my favorite thing to do. But when I do hug, I hug with all my heart!

I’ve come to realize there are several kinds of huggers. There’s the pat the back hugger, the rub the back hugger, the not to close hugger, the over hugger hugger and finally the non hugger… So which one are you?

No matter what you are feeling, hug someone today, it’s amazing just how wonderful you might feel… Not to mention the person you hug just may have needed that special hug today!

Pick Up The Dam Phone!

After posting something on Facebook and having it reposted, I realize for the first time, that I could end up having a relationship with somebody and never talk to them again, all in the name of technology!

Relationships have changed over the years… When my kids were in High School and would IM (instant message) on the desktop computers I thought back then… What is happening to personal and verbal connection with people today… Our relationships are almost all in our minds… Communicating non verbally means talking inside your head (like I am doing right now!) and not talking with another human being… I have to believe there is something very wrong with that…

We need connection and it seems as though people prefer text messaging over phone conversations… I believe there is a place for texting for sure, but don’t forget to pick up the phone and listen to a loved ones voice it may be the last time you ever hear it…

Connect today by phone with someone you love…

In “wonder” where we are heading in the future…

Seeing Beyond…

“Life and all that is visible to the eye… Yet, sometimes we can’t see past our very own nose!”

I just Love seeing outside the “bark”… When there is something in front of me and I am able to see beyond what is there, it always makes me Wonder… I am in Awe when others do the same, and wonder how much life do I really miss in a day…

This picture was posted by a High School friend on FaceBook this morning, a simple picture of a tree or was it? This post made me Wonder how many trees I have past without truly seeing a tree for what it may be trying to say…

An Elephant was seen in the bark of this old tree by my friend, and for that I am grateful… The Wonder all around us, the gifts we pass by, the love we ignore and the embracing of life we miss, for me is all summed up in this picture of the elephant in the bark of this tree!

A tree, with stories too numerous to tell (Not to mention it can’t talk) but it certainly can speak loader than words!

There’s an elephant to be seen, a lesson to be learned. Take a moment today to “Look past what you think you know you see and see beyond what you thought was there”…

Touching…

One of my favorite things to do is to touch and be touched… It was more than 40 years ago in High School when I walked passed my Chemistry teacher and placed my hand on his shoulder and said “excuse me” as I tried to pass him in a tight place… I will never forget what he said to me. He commented on how I was a “toucher” and that touch was very important to me.

I have been around people who don’t like to be touched and for me I can’t even imagine going through life without touches… I certainly understand peoples space and respecting it… but for me to be touched and to touch is such a connection to another person (or animal). When I saw this picture of a beautiful golden Retriever touching this babies head I just smiled… Like humans there are animals who need touch and Golden Retrievers are one of them!

Next time you are around people, notice if you are you a toucher or not?

I suppose there is nothing wrong with not being a toucher, but if you’re not, give it a try. A simple hug, a touch to someone’s shoulder or even grasping a hand with both your hands connects you to someone like nothing else!

Connecting to Some-Body is a beautiful experience!

Putting The Pieces Together…

Life…

A puzzle waiting to be pieced together. Somedays the pieces go together easily. Other days you sit looking at all the pieces, overwhelmed by what the picture should look like… The pieces are all there right in front of you, what piece do you choose to fit together today?

Life…

A picture waiting to be completed. The unknown of the number of pieces… The unknown of what the complete picture looks like… The box cover is missing…
The pieces free to be whatever you can imagine… But where does one start? The middle, the corner, the fear of the unknown. The determination of knowing the puzzle pieces can be put together one piece at a time… But what is the final picture? Where is that box cover to help guide you through what the puzzle should look like?

Life…

We are taught to follow the picture on the box cover. We believe it is that picture we are to complete… Or is it?
Are we better off with just the puzzle pieces to create our own completed picture? Some days the pieces fit together one piece at a time. Other days the pieces sit in front of us not knowing which piece to place in the correct spot…

Life…

There are days when the puzzle is overwhelming… Those are the days to sit quietly and imagine the beautiful picture on the cover of the box before you. What do you see? How close are you to a complete puzzle? How many times do you start your puzzle over? One piece, one day, one puzzle, one life, at a time… All knowing it sits within reach to be completed by you and only you…

Touching Lives…

I am exhausted physically from three days of working with The Habitat for Humanity Carter foundation. Although this trip, my volunteer role was less physical than when I was in Mississippi, being on this project moved me in a way I am still processing many emotions…

Touching lives… I was sent a picture this morning of a simple rubber band that sat on a new friends counter in the shape of a heart and it made her think of me… I was moved to tears… Perhaps from mental exhaustion from being involved with such a wonderful life changing organization as Habitat… Or maybe just knowing my passion to spread Love and living life filled with love, awe and wonder is touching lives….

I wonder daily about life, love and others. Living in a world filled with love, and what that could look like… I witnessed unconditional love all week from strangers who volunteered for strangers and yet sometimes we can’t even love the ones closest to us… This trip has me stopped in my “simple little life tracks” wondering even more…

I was in awe as I listened to President Carter humbly share his love and passion for God, life and people… As we were privileged to work along side with the Carter’s and hundreds of others, President Carter’s morning devotional was very inspirational.

The life changing lesson I walked away with from a moderated Democratic Southern Baptist (his self description)
was ” We are all equal in Gods eyes” a lesson he shared from the bible in Matthew 20. Sounds so simple doesn’t it? And yet look at our world… A lesson that had me looking at myself…

I am humbled by this experience with the Carter’s Habitat for Humanity Project, a life changing three days… I was also moved by this simple little heart shaped rubber band that was sent to me because it reminded my new friend of me… Touching lives in a way that leaves a Life changing impression, what a blessing to receive…

I have many stories to share about the host family we built for this week. There were 11 new home builds and 15 home critical repairs that took place this week in Denver Co… I was just a “tiny little piece” of a 2,000 piece puzzle that changed lives we may never even know about… But there is one life that was changed forever… Mine!

Thank you Charity and Patrick from Africa who was the host family I had the honor to serve this week, you changed my life!

And thank you JoEllen for taking a moment to send me a priceless picture of a simple reminder of Love…

The Perimeter

Life can be like a large pool of water… Sometimes it’s cold like ice, on a very warm sunny day it can be too hot to jump in… When the weather changes and the wind blows the waters can become very ruff… And then there is the calm, when the water is as smooth as ice…

No matter what the water appears to be in life, there is always the Perimeter… A place to stand, asses and to make a wise decision on your next move… A place to calm yourself before jumping in… A place to think before you react…

The Perimeter… A place stand in order to truly be able to see what’s exactly in front of you.
The Perimeter… A place a positive conscious decision can be made without becoming overly emotional.
The Perimeter… An area to contemplate your next move before jumping in and getting all wet!

So next time you have conflict in your life and need to make a decision… Stay on the Perimeter and take a good look at the whole situation…

Impossible Really?

Impossible is one of those words that you see with the im X out, making the word Possible! I’ve been inspired by a FB post from EC Pathways this morning…
The quote I love is:
“Believing is all child does for a living”

Believing YOU are possible and anything you Believe is Possible allowed me to see the word impossible different this morning…

When I saw the picture of Impossible I saw I’mPossible!! By inserting a simple ( ‘ ) “apostrophe” (although that word is not so simple) between the i and m the word impossible just took on a whole new meaning….

I’m in Awe of Believing and although life may get in the way sometimes
I’mPossible and so are YOU!
