Learning to Walk…

As I was babysitting my grandson the other day I notice him standing still every so often… You see, he’s learning to walk. He’s doing very well. But he tends to be cautious. It’s fun to watch him take a few steps, then stop, “stand still”, evaluate his progresses and continue walking. Watching him made me wonder about myself… The “standing still” part that is… I continue to be in a season of “standing still” evaluating life around me and wondering about my next step. I find myself in awe of my grandson. I haven’t quite processed being a grandmother, but I’m loving every second being with my grandson…

A Word

A word…
The right word…
An encouraging word,
Changes ones thoughts.
Inspires ones motivation
And rejuvenates ones purpose.
A word…
The wrong word…
Cuts like a knife
Leaving a scar
Unable to ever be taken back.
It stings like a bee,
Bites like a vicious dog,
Numbs the joy in your life…
What they say,
And what you hear
Maybe the same.
But what you hear
And what they say
Can only be received
the way you allow it…
Listen and only accept those encouraging words!

Inspiration

Is it possible to be inspired by the lack of inspiration in your life?

I got wondering about the season in my life and all the changes that are taking place. This isn’t my favorite season to say the least, but it is a necessary season non the less.

That dreaded “aging parents” season! It has been a blessing to have parents in my life for so long. But now, my sister was asking the question… Is it still a blessing? Watching the ones you love change and weaken into people you know longer recognize… All while life’s inspiration seems to be numb and yet… In a strange new way, I continue to be inspired during this challenging season.

My dad use to refer to it has his “sunset years”. The beauty of a life slowly slipping away behind a human being… The beautiful sun setting in the evening sky, the end of a full day…
The sunset years… the end of a full life…

A lesson learned… It is possible to be inspired during a period in ones life with a lack of inspiration…

Continuing to live life filled with
Love for others
Awe for what life has to offer
And
Wonder about what today will bring…

Wasted Time!

So if the internet is suppose to be saving us time, then why do I Waste So Much DAM time on it? Between trying to sign in, remembering what you thought was your password, not being able to sign in to a site, only to have to start over and over and over again! Well, you get the picture!!! I’m beginning to think enough is enough already! And while I am at it, how much is “enough” anyway?

For Granted

I woke up breathing
And took it for granted…
The sun was shinning…
And I took that for granted too…
The warmth of my bed
The blessing of my home
The gift of being me
I’ve taken for granted…
I’m thankful,
But not always joy filled.
Every moment of every day
I pray, a wave of being present to joy
fills me…
An understanding of never taking anything for granted…
Embracing this life, its gifts and blessings…
Sharing them with others.
Allowing moments of authenticity
to flow…
Living in love,
Embracing the love within,
and knowing I am love…
Reminds me to…
Keep “for granted” at bay…
Drowning what was
Granting what is…

3 There is a time for everything,

Others….

Today after witnessing a negative encounter between the women in front of me and a cashier at Starbucks I couldn’t help but wonder about those who inspire me… The word that came to mind was “Others”, I thought, it’s others who inspire me… Even that cranky, sad, miserable women inspired me today… She makes me want to be a better person to others and count my blessings daily!
And then there are those who inspire others just by being present to their joy filled spirit… I’m really, really inspired by those people!!!
